It was the heart-felt burden of Mrs. Meera Moktan to touch and change the lives of children in Riyang village. This burden led to the birth of the Victory Day Care. The day care was visited by Mr. Jacob and Mrs. Elizabeth Jacob of the King’s School, at a critical juncture when the volunteers were paid Rs.300 per month as an honorarium. That year, the King’s School began to support the project and today the Victory Day Care has become a small school with 5 teachers and 40 children.

Community development & health care projects
Kalimpong, Darjeeling District, West Bengal

Sam and Karin Johnson work in the remote areas of Kalimpong where no one is found willing to enter. Children and their families are left abandoned with no medical care. Sam and Karin conduct medical workshops, health care and inoculation projects at these remote villages and we at The King’s School support them.
